«Ustedes han pecado contra Dios. Por eso el rey Nabucodonosor, que es el rey de Babilonia, se los va a llevar presos a su país. Allá en Babilonia ustedes tendrán que vivir unos trescientos años, hasta que se cumpla el tiempo fijado por Dios. Después de ese tiempo él los hará volver de allí en paz.
»En Babilonia verán a la gente cargar sobre sus hombros ídolos de plata, de oro y de madera. Verán también cómo esa gente, que no cree en Dios, adora a esos ídolos.
»Tengan mucho cuidado: No se porten como esa gente, ni adoren a sus ídolos. Cuando vean a esa gente marchar delante y detrás de esos ídolos para adorarlos, ustedes digan en voz baja: “Dios de Israel, sólo a ti te debemos adorar”. Recuerden que el ángel de Dios está con ustedes, y que él sabe lo que ustedes piensan.
»El escultor fabrica ídolos de oro y plata, y hasta les pone lengua, pero esos ídolos no pueden hablar porque son dioses falsos. La gente que no conoce a nuestro Dios adorna a sus dioses con diademas de oro, como si esos ídolos fueran muchachas coquetas. Luego vienen los sacerdotes y se roban el oro y la plata de esos dioses, y los usan para sus gastos personales, y hasta para pagarles a las prostitutas del templo. Además, a esos ídolos de oro, plata y madera los visten como si fueran personas; sin embargo, esos ídolos no pueden evitar que el óxido y la polilla los destruya. Aunque están cubiertos con ropa muy fina, no pueden protegerse del polvo que hay en el templo; por eso la gente tiene que limpiarles la cara. Hasta hay uno de esos ídolos con un bastón de mando en la mano, como si fuera el gobernador del país; pero si alguien lo insulta, no puede castigar al ofensor. Hay otro que lleva en la mano derecha una espada y un hacha; pero no se puede defender de sus enemigos ni de los ladrones. Como pueden ver, esos ídolos no son dioses; por lo tanto, no los adoren.
»Los ídolos que están dentro de los templos no sirven para nada; son tan inútiles como un jarrón roto. Esos ídolos tienen los ojos llenos del polvo que levanta la gente al caminar. Los sacerdotes los encierran con todo tipo de cerraduras, para que nadie se los robe. ¡Se parecen a los prisioneros condenados a muerte por haber ofendido al rey! En sus templos les encienden muchísimas lámparas, pero esos ídolos jamás las podrán ver, pues son como las vigas de una casa: están carcomidos por la polilla. La gente que los adora no se da cuenta de que los gusanos se comen a esos ídolos con ropa y todo. El humo que hay en sus templos les ha puesto negra la cara. Los murciélagos, las golondrinas y otros pájaros, se posan sobre ellos; ¡hasta los gatos se echan sobre ellos! Como pueden ver, esos ídolos no son dioses; por lo tanto, no los adoren.
»Cuando los estaban fabricando, ni se dieron cuenta; y aunque están recubiertos de oro, alguien tiene que pulirlos para que puedan brillar. Esos ídolos no tienen vida, pero salen muy caros. Si se caen, hay que levantarlos, y como no pueden caminar, hay que cargarlos. Para vergüenza de quienes los adoran, queda demostrado que no sirven para nada. Si los ponen de pie, no pueden moverse; si los acuestan, no pueden levantarse. Darles una ofrenda es como dársela a un muerto. Los sacerdotes se roban esas ofrendas y las venden. Las esposas de los sacerdotes se roban la carne de los animales ofrecidos a esos ídolos, en vez de compartirla con la gente pobre. Hasta las mujeres que están con su menstruación, o que acaban de tener un hijo, tocan esos animales sacrificados, ¡y no les pasa nada! Como pueden ver, esos ídolos no son dioses; por lo tanto, no los adoren.
»¿Cómo pueden decir ustedes que esos ídolos de oro, plata y madera son dioses? Si lo fueran, esos ídolos no permitirían que las mujeres les presentaran ofrendas, pues eso está prohibido por nuestra ley. En los templos de esos ídolos, los sacerdotes tampoco cumplen nuestra ley, pues presiden el culto con túnicas rotas, con el cabello y la barba afeitados y con la cabeza descubierta. También lloran a gritos delante de sus ídolos, como lo hace la gente en los funerales. Además, esos sacerdotes les quitan la ropa a los ídolos, y con ella hacen vestidos para sus hijos y esposas. Si la gente que los adora los trata bien o mal, esos ídolos no pueden responder. Si alguien les hace una promesa y no la cumple, ellos no pueden castigarlo por no cumplir. Esos ídolos no pueden hacer rico a nadie, ni siquiera darle unas monedas. Tampoco pueden poner o quitar reyes, ni librar al pobre del poderoso, ni salvar a nadie de la muerte. No pueden devolver la vista al ciego ni librar a nadie del peligro; tampoco pueden cuidar a las viudas ni ayudar a los huérfanos. Esos ídolos de madera, recubiertos de oro y plata, son tan inútiles como pedazos de piedra sacados de una montaña. Quienes los adoran quedarán en vergüenza. ¡Qué ridículo es creer que esos ídolos son dioses!
»Los babilonios mismos hacen quedar en ridículo a sus dioses, pues cuando hay una persona muda, lo llevan ante el dios Bel y le piden que la haga hablar. ¡Como si ese ídolo pudiera escuchar! Y aunque se dan cuenta de que sus dioses no sirven para nada, los babilonios no se atreven a abandonarlos. ¡No quieren reconocer que son unos tontos! En las calles algunas mujeres se atan un cordón a la cintura y se sientan a quemar la cáscara del grano, como si fuera incienso. Y cuando un hombre pasa por allí, y se lleva a una de esas mujeres para tener relaciones sexuales con ella, esa mujer se burla de sus compañeras, porque ninguna de ellas fue elegida por el hombre para desatarle el cordón. ¡Qué ridículo es creer que esos ídolos son dioses!
»Los ídolos no son más que objetos hechos por artesanos; son lo que sus fabricantes quisieron que fueran. Y si los artesanos son simples mortales, ¿cómo pueden pensar que sus obras son dioses? Lo único que esos artesanos les van a dejar a sus hijos son mentiras y fracasos.
»Cuando hay guerra o llega una desgracia, los sacerdotes buscan un lugar para esconderse junto con sus ídolos. No se dan cuenta de que esos ídolos son falsos dioses, y que ni ellos mismos se pueden salvar. Tarde o temprano las naciones, junto con sus reyes, descubrirán que esos ídolos no son dioses, sino simples objetos hechos por simples mortales. No son más que madera recubierta de oro y plata, y no tienen ningún poder divino. ¡Qué ridículo es creer que esos ídolos son dioses!
»Esos ídolos no eligen a los reyes de los países, ni pueden enviar lluvia a la gente; no se pueden defender en un juicio, y mucho menos salvar a quien sufre injusticias, pues no tienen poder alguno. Son totalmente indefensos. Si se quema el templo donde están esos ídolos, los sacerdotes salen corriendo para ponerse a salvo, y los ídolos se queman como cualquier viga del templo, aunque estén recubiertos de oro y plata. ¡Qué ridículo es creer que esos ídolos son dioses, cuando ni siquiera pueden hacerle frente a un rey o a un enemigo!
»Si los ladrones toman a esos ídolos de madera, y les roban el oro, la plata o la ropa con que están cubiertos, ellos no se pueden defender. Por eso, es de más valor un rey valiente, o una herramienta que sirve de algo en la casa, o una puerta que protege a los que viven en ella, o una columna que adorna un palacio, que uno de esos dioses falsos.
»Si Dios les da la orden, el sol, la luna y las estrellas alumbran en el cielo, el relámpago alumbra todo el horizonte, el viento sopla por todas partes, las nubes se van al lugar señalado, y el rayo quema bosques y montañas. En cambio, esos dioses falsos no se pueden comparar a nada de esto, ni en belleza ni en poder. Y si no pueden hacer justicia ni hacerle bien a la gente, es ridículo creer que son dioses. Por lo tanto, no los adoren.
»Esos ídolos no pueden bendecir ni maldecir a los reyes; no pueden dar ninguna señal en el cielo, ni alumbrar como el sol ni brillar como la luna. Un animal de la selva, que se puede defender y esconder, vale más que esos ídolos. Por lo tanto, no les tengan miedo, pues queda comprobado que no son dioses.
»Esos ídolos de madera, recubiertos de oro y plata, no sirven para nada; ¡se parecen a un inútil espantapájaros en un campo de melones! También se parecen a los espinos en un jardín, donde se posan los pájaros; se parecen a un muerto abandonado en la oscuridad. Cuando ustedes vean cómo a esos ídolos se les pudren sus finos vestidos, podrán darse cuenta de que no son dioses. Finalmente, a ellos mismos se los comerá la polilla, y la gente que los adora quedará avergonzada.
»La persona justa que no cree en dioses falsos es muy valiosa. A esa persona, Dios lo librará de todo castigo». (Carta de Jeremías 1:1-33, 35-55, 57-63, 65-72 TLAD)

Mi pueblo sufre por Falta de conocimiento, conocimiento que se encuentra solamente en la palabra de Dios. Como puedes decir Creo en Dios pero no me gusta leer y obedecer su santa palabra? Querido hermano busca de Dios ahora que todavía hay tiempo muy pronto el Juicio terminará y Jesùs Regresará a esta tierra como lo prometió y cuando esto suceda la puerta de la Gracia se habrá cerrado por la eternidad.

God’s Last Message

The work of God in this earth can never be finished until the men and women comprising our church membership rally to the work and unite their efforts with those of ministers and church officers. 30Testimonies for the Church 9:117 – {CCh 58.1}
The words “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” Mark 16:15 are spoken to each one of Christ’s followers. All who are ordained unto the life of Christ are ordained to work for the salvation of their fellow men. The same longing of soul that He felt for the saving of the lost is to be manifest in them. Not all can fill the same place, but for all there is a place and a work. All upon whom God’s blessings have been bestowed are to respond by actual service; every gift is to be employed for the advancement of His kingdom. 31Testimonies for the Church 8:16 – {CCh 58.2}
Preaching is a small part of the work to be done for the salvation of souls. God’s Spirit convicts sinners of the truth, and He places them in the arms of the church. The ministers may do their part, but they can never perform the work that the church should do. God requires His church to nurse those who are young in faith and experience, to go to them, not for the purpose of gossiping with them, but to pray, to speak unto them words that are “like apples of gold in pictures of silver.” 32Testimonies for the Church 4:69 – {CCh 58.3}
God has called His church in this day, as He called ancient Israel, to stand as a light in the earth. By the mighty cleaver of truth-the messages of the first, second, and third angels-He has separated them from the churches and from the world to bring them into a sacred nearness to Himself. He has made them the depositaries of His law and has committed to them the great truths of prophecy for this time. Like the holy oracles committed to ancient Israel, these are a sacred trust to be communicated to the world. – {CCh 58.4}
The three angels of Revelation 14 represent the people who accept the light of God’s messages and go forth as His agents to sound the warning throughout the length and breadth of the earth. Christ declares to His followers: “Ye are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:14. To every soul that accepts Jesus the cross of Calvary speaks: “Behold the worth of the soul: ‘Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.’” Mark 16:15. Nothing is to be permitted to hinder this work. It is the all-important work for time; it is to be far-reaching as eternity. The love that Jesus manifested for the souls of men in the sacrifice which He made for their redemption, will actuate all His followers. 33Testimonies for the Church 5:455, 456 Christ accepts, oh, so gladly! every human agency that is surrendered to Him. He brings the human into union with the divine, that He may communicate to the world the mysteries of incarnate love. Talk it, pray it, sing it, fill the world with the message of His truth, and keep pressing on into the regions beyond. 34Testimonies for the Church 9:30 – {CCh 58.5}
Were every one of you a living missionary, the message for this time would speedily be proclaimed in all countries, to every people and nation and tongue. 35Testimonies for the Church 6:438 – {CCh 59.1}
All who would enter the city of God must during their earthly life set forth Christ in their dealings. It is this that constitutes them the messengers of Christ, His witnesses. They are to bear a plain, decided testimony against all evil practices, pointing sinners to the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world. He gives to all who receive Him, power to become the sons of God. Regeneration is the only path by which we can enter the city of God. It is narrow, and the gate by which we enter is strait; but along it we are to lead men and women and children, teaching them that, in order to be saved, they must have a new heart and a new spirit. The old, hereditary traits of character must be overcome. The natural desires of the soul must be changed. All deception, all falsifying, all evilspeaking, must be put away. The new life, which makes men and women Christlike, is to be lived. 36Testimonies for the Church 9:23 – {CCh 59.2}
My brethren and sisters, do you desire to break the spell that holds you? Would you arouse from this sluggishness that resembles the torpor of death? Go to work, whether you feel like it or not. Engage in personal effort to bring souls to Jesus and the knowledge of the truth. In such labor you will find both a stimulus and a tonic; it will both arouse and strengthen. By exercise your spiritual powers will become more vigorous, so that you can with better success work out your own salvation. The stupor of death is upon many who profess Christ. Make every effort to arouse them. Warn, entreat, expostulate. Pray that the melting love of God may warm and soften their icebound natures. Though they may refuse to hear, your labor will not be lost. In the effort to bless others your own souls will be blessed. 37Testimonies for the Church 5:387 – {CCh 59.3}
Let none feel that because they are uneducated they cannot take part in the Lord’s work. God has a work for you to do. He has given to every man his work. You can search the Scriptures for yourselves. “The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalm 119:130. You can pray for the work. The prayer of the sincere heart, offered in faith, will be heard in heaven. And you are to work according to your ability. 38Testimonies for the Church 6:433 – {CCh 59.4}
Heavenly intelligences are waiting to co-operate with human instrumentalities, that they may reveal to the world what human beings may become and what, through their influence, they may accomplish for the saving of souls that are ready to perish. Christ calls upon us to labor patiently and perseveringly for the thousands perishing in their sins, scattered in all lands, like wrecks on a desert shore. Those who share in Christ’s glory must share also in His ministry, helping the weak, the wretched, and the despondent. 39Testimonies for the Church 9:30, 31 – {CCh 59.5}
Every believer should be wholehearted in his attachment to the church. Its prosperity should be his first interest, and unless he feels under sacred obligations to make his connection with the church a benefit to it in preference to himself, it can do far better without him. It is in the power of all to do something for the cause of God. There are those who spend a large amount for needless luxuries; they gratify their appetites, but feel it a great tax to contribute means to sustain the church. They are willing to receive all the benefit of its privileges, but prefer to leave others to pay the bills. 40Testimonies for the Church 4:18 – {CCh 60.1}
The church of Christ may be fitly compared to an army. The life of every soldier is one of toil, hardship, and danger. On every hand are vigilant foes, led on by the prince of the powers of darkness, who never slumbers and never deserts his post. Whenever a Christian is off his guard, this powerful adversary makes a sudden and violent attack. Unless the members of the church are active and vigilant, they will be overcome by his devices. What if half the soldiers in an army were idling or asleep when ordered to be on duty; the result would be defeat, captivity, or death. Should any escape from the hands of the enemy, would they be thought worthy of a reward? No; they would speedily receive the sentence of death. And is the church of Christ careless or unfaithful, far more important consequences are involved. A sleeping army of Christian soldiers-what could be more terrible! What advance could be made against the world, who are under the control of the prince of darkness? Those who stand back indifferently in the day of battle, as though they had no interest and felt no responsibility as to the issue of the contest, might better change their course or leave the ranks at once. 41Testimonies for the Church 5:394 – {CCh 60.2}
Women as well as men can engage in the work of hiding the truth where it can work out and be made manifest. They can take their place in the work at this crisis, and the Lord will work through them. If they are imbued with a sense of their duty, and labor under the influence of the Spirit of God, they will have just the self-possession required for this time. The Saviour will reflect upon these self-sacrificing women the light of His countenance, and this will give them a power that will exceed that of men. They can do in families a work that men cannot do, a work that reaches the inner life. They can come close to the hearts of those whom men cannot reach. Their work is needed. Discreet and humble women can do a good work in explaining the truth to the people in their homes. The word of God thus explained will do its leavening work, and through its influence whole families will be converted. 42Testimonies for the Church 9:128, 129 All can do something. In an effort to excuse themselves, some say: “My home duties, my children, claim my time and my means.” Parents, your children should be your helping hand, increasing your power and ability to work for the Master. Children are the younger members of the Lord’s family. They should be led to consecrate themselves to God, whose they are by creation and by redemption. They should be taught that all their powers of body, mind, and soul are His. They should be trained to help in various lines of unselfish service. Do not allow your children to be hindrances. With you the children should share spiritual as well as physical burdens. By helping others they increase their own happiness and usefulness. 43Testimonies for the Church 7:63 – {CCh 60.3}
Our work for Christ is to begin with the family in the home. The education of the youth should be of a different order from that which has been given in the past. Their welfare demands far more labor than has been given them. There is no missionary field more important than this. By precept and example parents are to teach their children to labor for the unconverted. The children should be so educated that they will sympathize with the aged and afflicted and will seek to alleviate the sufferings of the poor and distressed. They should be taught to be diligent in missionary work; and from their earliest years self-denial and sacrifice for the good of others and the advancement of Christ’s cause should be inculcated, that they may be laborers together with God. 44Testimonies for the Church 6:429 – {CCh 61.1}
It is not the purpose of God that His people should colonize or settle together in large communities. The disciples of Christ are His representatives upon the earth, and God designs that they shall be scattered all over the country, in the towns, cities, and villages, as lights amidst the darkness of the world. They are to be missionaries for God, by their faith and works testifying to the near approach of the coming Saviour. – {CCh 61.2}
The lay members of our churches can accomplish a work which, as yet, they have scarcely begun. None should move into new places merely for the sake of worldly advantage; but where there is an opening to obtain a livelihood, let families that are well grounded in the truth enter, one or two families in a place, to work as missionaries. They should feel a love for souls, a burden of labor for them, and should make it a study how to bring them into the truth. They can distribute our publications, hold meetings in their homes, become acquainted with their neighbors, and invite them to come to these meetings. Thus they can let their light shine in good works. – {CCh 61.3}
Let the workers stand alone in God, weeping, praying, laboring for the salvation of their fellow men. Remember that you are running a race, striving for a crown of immortality. While so many love the praise of men more than the favor of God, let it be yours to labor in humility. Learn to exercise faith in presenting your neighbors before the throne of grace and pleading with God to touch their hearts. In this way effectual missionary work may be done. Some may be reached who would not listen to a minister or a colporteur. And those who thus labor in new places will learn the best ways of approaching the people and can prepare the way for other laborers. 45Testimonies for the Church 8:244, 245 – {CCh 61.4}
Visit your neighbors and show an interest in the salvation of their souls. Arouse every spiritual energy to action. Tell those whom you visit that the end of all things is at hand. The Lord Jesus Christ will open the door of their hearts and will make upon their minds lasting impressions. – {CCh 62.1}
Even while engaged in their daily employment, God’s people can lead others to Christ. And while doing this they will have the precious assurance that the Saviour is close beside them. They need not think that they are left to depend on their own feeble efforts. Christ will give them words to speak that will refresh and encourage and strengthen poor, struggling souls who are in darkness. Their own faith will be strengthened as they realize that the Redeemer’s promise is being fulfilled. Not only are they a blessing to others, but the work they do for Christ brings blessing to themselves. 46Testimonies for the Church 9:38, 39 – {CCh 62.2}
A great work can be done by presenting to the people the Bible just as it reads. Carry the word of God to every man’s door, urge its plain statements upon every man’s conscience, repeat to all the Saviour’s command: “Search the Scriptures.” John 5:39. Admonish them to take the Bible as it is, to implore divine enlightenment, and then, when the light shines, to gladly accept each precious ray and fearlessly abide the consequences. 47Testimonies for the Church 5:388 – {CCh 62.3}
Among the members of our churches there should be more house-to-house labor in giving Bible readings and distributing literature. A Christian character can be symmetrically and completely formed only when the human agent regards it as a privilege to work disinterestedly in the proclamation of the truth and to sustain the cause of God with means. We must sow beside all waters, keeping our souls in the love of God, working while it is day, and using the means the Lord has given us to do whatever duty comes next. Whatever our hands find to do, we are to do it with faithfulness; whatever sacrifice we are called upon to make, we are to make it cheerfully. As we sow beside all waters we shall realize that “he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” 2 Corinthians 9:6. 48Testimonies for the Church 9:127 – {CCh 62.4}
Anything less than active, earnest service for the Master gives the lie to our profession of faith. Only the Christianity that is revealed by earnest, practical work will make an impression upon those who are dead in trespasses and sins. Praying, humble, believing Christians, those who show by their actions that their greatest desire is to make known the saving truth which is to test all people, will gather a rich harvest of souls for the Master. There is no excuse for the faith of our churches to be so faint and feeble. “Turn you to the Stronghold, ye prisoners of hope.” Zechariah 9:12. There is strength for us in Christ. He is our Advocate before the Father. He dispatches His messengers to every part of His dominion to communicate His will to His people. He walks in the midst of His churches. He desires to sanctify, elevate, and ennoble His followers. The influence of those who truly believe in Him will be a savor of life in the world. He holds the stars in His right hand, and it is His purpose to let His light shine through these to the world. Thus He desires to prepare His people for higher service in the church above. He has given us a great work to do. Let us do it with accuracy and determination. Let us show in our lives what the truth has done for us. – {CCh 62.5}
It has cost self-denial, self-sacrifice, indomitable energy, and much prayer, to bring up the various missionary enterprises where they now stand. There is danger that some of those now coming upon the stage of action will rest content to be inefficient, feeling that there is now no need of so great self-denial and diligence, such hard and disagreeable labor, as the leaders in this message experienced; that times have changed; and that since there is now more means in the cause of God, it is not necessary for them to place themselves in such trying circumstances as many were called to meet in the rise of the message. – {CCh 63.1}
But were there the same diligence and self-sacrifice manifest at the present stage of the work as at its beginning, we should see a hundred times more than is now accomplished. 49Testimonies for the Church 6:417-419 – {CCh 63.2}
Our profession is an exalted one. As Sabbathkeeping Adventists we profess to obey all God’s commandments and to be looking for the coming of our Redeemer. A most solemn message of warning has been entrusted to God’s faithful few. We should show by our words and works that we recognize the great responsibility laid upon us. Our light should shine so clearly that others can see that we glorify the Father in our daily lives; that we are connected with heaven and are joint heirs with Jesus Christ, that when He shall appear in power and great glory, we shall be like Him. 50Testimonies for the Church 4:16 – {CCh 63.3}

EL SABADO 4to MANDAMIENTO DE LA LEY DE DIOS

INTRODUCCIÓN
1. Si la ley de Dios expresada en los diez mandamientos o principios son tan eternos como el mismo Dios y siguen estando vigentes en la actualidad para todo cristiano, tal y como vimos en el anterior estudio, el sábado, cuarto mandamiento de esta ley santa justa y buena, también sigue estando vigente.
2. El cuarto mandamiento no está restringido a los judíos. Los cristianos tienen, de hecho, más razones para guardar el sábado que los mismos judíos.

I. EL CUARTO MANDAMIENTO.
1. ¿Qué dice el cuarto mandamiento? Éxodo 20:8-11.
2. ¿Qué se dice del carácter espiritual de la observancia del cuarto mandamiento? Isaías 58:13, 14.
3. ¿Cuándo empieza y cuando termina el sábado? Levítico 23:32.

II. EL SÁBADO NO ES UN DIA JUDAICO.
1. Dos mil años antes de Abraham, antepasado de los judíos, ¿qué dice la Escritura acerca del sábado? Génesis 2:1-3.
2. En la travesía por el desierto, antes de que el Decálogo fuera promulgado desde el Sinaí, ¿qué día era considerado pro Dios como santo? Éxodo 16:22-26.
3. ¿El sábado sería sólo para los judíos o también para los otros pueblos? Isaías 56:2; Génesis 2:1-3.
Nota: Ni Adán ni Eva eran judíos, y a ellos se les concedió el sábado como un regalo.
4. ¿Para quién fue hecho el sábado? Marcos 2:27.

III. JESÚS Y EL SÁBADO.
1. ¿Cuál era la costumbre de Jesús? Lucas 4:16.
2. ¿Qué dijo Jesús acerca de la verdadera observancia del sábado? Mateo 12:11, 12.
Nota: Las curaciones de Jesús en el día del sábado no suponían ninguna trasgresión a la santidad del cuarto mandamiento, ya que, tal y como dice la Escritura, Jesús jamás pecó. Jesús estaba mostrando a los estrechos fariseos, saduceos y maestros de la Ley su visión limitada del sábado, así como su falta de caridad y compasión por los más débiles. Jesús no dejó nunca de ayudar y sanar al enfermo, y el sábado, un día de alegría, liberación y adoración, suponía una oportunidad única para mostrar la excelencia de este día tan especial.
3. ¿Vino Jesús para abrogar o abolir la Ley, de la cual el sábado forma parte? Mateo 5:17.
4. Jesucristo, ¿dé qué día es Señor? Marcos 2:28.
5. ¿Cuál debe ser la actitud del cristiano? 1ª Juan 2:6.
6. Hasta la muerte de Jesús, ¿cómo guardaron sus discípulos el sábado? Lucas 23:55, 56.

IV. LOS PRIMEROS CRISTIANOS Y EL SÁBADO.
1. Según el Nuevo Testamento, ¿cuál es el día que precede inmediatamente al primer día de la semana? Mateo 28:1.
2. Unos 15 años después de la muerte de Jesús, ¿qué hicieron Pablo y Bernabé en un día de sábado? Hechos. 13:14, 15.
3. El sábado siguiente, no ya a los judíos en la sinagoga, sino a los gentiles, ¿qué hicieron Pablo y Bernabé? Hechos 13:44.
4. Casi 20 años después de la muerte de Jesús, ¿cómo era guardado aún el sábado? Hechos 16:13.
5. En ocasión de la destrucción de Jerusalén, qué ocurrió el año 70, cerca de 40 años después de la muerte de Jesús, ¿cómo sería guardado el sábado por los cristianos? Mateo 24:20.
Nota: Las palabras “ni en día de Sábado” “suponen los primeros cristianos aún fieles a la Ley, como era el caso” (Padre M. J. Lagrange, Evangile selon Matthieu, p. 462).

V. EL SÁBADO ES UN DÍA CRISTIANO.
1. ¿Qué nos recuerda el sábado? Éxodo 20:11.
2. Si el sábado nos recuerda al Creador, ¿por qué tienen los cristianos más razón para guardarlo que los judíos? Juan 1:3; Colosenses 1:16; Hebreos 1:1, 2.
3. ¿Qué más nos recuerda el sábado? Éxodo 31:13; Ezequiel 20:12.
4. Si el sábado nos recuerda al Dios que nos santifica, ¿por qué, de nuevo, tienen más motivos los cristianos para guardarlo que los judíos? 1ª Corintios 1:30.
5. ¿Qué día será guardado en la Tierra Nueva? Isaías 66:22, 23.

CONCLUSIÓN
1. ¿Con qué palabras establece Jesús la necesidad de obediencia a todos los mandamientos? Mateo 5:17-19.
2. ¿Qué promesa es hecha a aquellos que han sido fieles en lo muy poco? Mateo 25:23.
Nota: No podemos decir que el sábado entre en la categoría de “mandamiento muy pequeño”. Los diez mandamientos son igual de importantes. Eran los rabinos que habían introducido reglamentaciones de factura humana según las cuales una reglamentación podía invalidar un principio de la ley (véase Mr. 7:11-13, 7). Jesús, refutando con argumentos que los rabinos conocían, estaba declarando que en el caso de la ley moral o de los diez mandamientos no había excepción alguna. Hoy, podemos decir, que aunque el cuarto mandamiento o el sábado sea considerado muy “pequeño” por una gran parte de la cristiandad, la visión de Dios es totalmente diferente. No olvidemos que Jesús dice que aquel que menosprecie (quebrante) uno de los mandamientos y así lo enseñe, “muy pequeño será llamado en el reino de los cielos” (Mt. 5:19), en el sentido de no ser digno del reino de los cielos. Por el contrario, cualquiera que guarde la ley de los diez mandamientos y los enseñe “será llamado grande en el reino de los cielos”.

Una de las iniciativas de nuestra iglesia conjuntamente con Obra Misionera este 2011 será levantar obra adventista en Hightstown, NJ estamos orando para que Dios guie a los 12 Calebs que nuestra iglesia enviara en una mision de conquista de este pueblo para Cristo.
